KEN MILES driving the Ford GT40 MK2 P/1015 :: 1966 Le Mans
There are few racing cars and race driver tandems that have multiple movies and documentaries made about them. This one seems to transcend all others because the process to get to Le Mans alone is the stuff of legend. Ford v Ferrari. Carroll Shelby and Ken Miles and Enzo Ferrari. Christian Bale and Matt Damon and Remo Girone.
Here is my take on the famous 1966 Ford GT40 P/1015, driven by Ken Miles and Denny Hulme at the 1966 24 hours of Le Mans. Ken is depicted at the Le Mans grandstands. Ken has changed into his civilian clothes after the event; both having a knowing look about them over what was actually accomplished. I wanted to give the moment of reflection the dignity it deserved. Real or imagined, you hopefully can sense the feeling here. I think the phrase I'm looking for is 'In due course' ... 'vindicated'.
